County Clerk F. M. Rice has received word from the superintendent of the asylum at Clarinda that Fernando L. Wheeler had been discharged from the state institution as improved. Mr. Wheeler was committed to the asylum on the 21st of January 1911 and remained in custody until August 24, 1913 when he escaped. Since that time little was heard of him here though during the summer it was reported that he was at Manning a few days. All hope that Mr. Wheeler's improved condition will prove to be permanent.
