OPENS FOR MONTH
Mr. B. D. Stewart of the Territorial Bureau of Mines, accompanied by J. E. Hoehm, arrived from Juneau Monday evening to open the local assay office for a period of about a month. Mr. Stewart states that the department is very anxious to obtain information from the mining people as to what obstacles confront the mining program in this part of the territory and to give whatever assistance and advice they can to prospectors.
Mr. Stewart is returning to Juneau this evening and Mr. Hoehm will maintain headquarters in Nome although he will spend considerable time on a routine inspection throughout the second division. He plans to leave immediately for Solomon, Council, and the Haycock area.
Anyone wishing to get in touch with him may leave a note on the office door and he will endeavor to make contact with them when he returns.
