DEAF AND DUMB.

By the fifth report of the American Asylum at Hartford, Connecticut, for the instruction of the Deaf and Dumb, it appears that this valuable institution continues to flourish. A collection of letters, and other specimens of composition, is published in the appendix, which exhibits very gratifying degrees of intellectual improvement in the writers, and of their sentiments on a variety of important subjects, as well as their feeling of nature. The following are extracted as samples--the other being not less interesting.
