Thousands Work Overtime Hauling Coal In Britain

(By The Associated Press)

LONDON, Feb. 17.-With another cold wave predicted for Great Britain, thousands of men in trucks and other types of vehicles are working overtime in rushing loads of coal to distribution centers. Much of the coal is being delivered by soldiers, driving army trucks.

The government announced that, because of recurrent cold weather at short intervals, all attempts thus far have failed in piling up large supplies of coal at industrial centers, particularly at electric and gas plants.

Thousands of other tons of coal are being delivered from ships and by railroads.
