Good Tidings of our Congressional Election.
Letters and returns from every quarter, give a triumphant federal gain. In this (Suffolk,) District the Honourable Mr. Ward has been re-elected without opposition. In Essex South District, the Honourable Timothy Pickering, and in Essex North District, Honourable Daniel A. White, both federal candidates, are chosen by very large majorities. In Norfolk District, the Honourable Mr. Ruggles is re-chosen by a great increase of votes. In Middlesex, the Honourable Mr. Stearns (federal candidate, opposed to Mr. Dana, now in Congress) is undoubtedly chosen by larger majority than Mr. Dana had last summer; and we are happy in announcing, that federalism has at length prevailed in this District, much to the honour of its inhabitants. And yesterday we received several letters from Kennebunk, (first Eastern District) giving the pleasing information, that the Honourable Cyrus King, the present enlightened and patriotick member of Congress, is re-chosen—the Honourable Mr. Holmes, the opposition candidate. From several other Districts we have a few returns, and reasoning from the analogy of our present political situation, we have right to presume, that the State will be wholly represented by Peace Delegates.
