Fatal Accident.—On Wednesday morning last William A. Glanton, son of James H. I. Glanton, who lives near our town, when in the act of loading a gun in his father's house, was accidentally shot through the head, and died instantly. It appears that while loading, the lock was left half-cocked—that in ramming down the ball, the rod got fast, and that the deceased was endeavoring to draw it out with his teeth, when the gun slipped, struck the lock on the floor, and went off, shooting the ball and rod both through his head. They entered just below the mouth, passed through the tongue, and came out near the crown—The rod did not pass clear through, but stuck fast in his head.—Columbus Gazette.
