Aura Sacra Fames.—The Washington correspondent of the U. S. Gazette concludes a letter as follows:-
Gold and silver are flowing here in streams. The members of Congress, left to their own choice, receive their mileage and per diem in specie—specie wrung from the yeomanry at the post offices, and the merchants at the custom houses. The poor pensioner is put off with a worthless and uncurrent piece of paper, while the member of Congress receives his gold and silver, throws it about, and cries, the measures of the administration have restored the golden age. He then goes to the broker and sells specie for rags, at a profit of ten per cent.
