In laying down a specific line of policy they declare for funding of the debt in low interest bearing bonds; the establishment of a full legal tender paper currency; the repeal of the resumption act, and the retirement of the national bank notes. After the adoption of this platform the convention proceeded to indorse the candidate of the Nationals for supreme judge. This insures the election Judge Knapp.
Singularly enough the New York World finds no fault with the Iowa platform. It declares it "a fair declaration of principles. A party in the minority can afford itself the luxury of saying what it really thinks, and whoever wrote the platform appears to have meant every word he said." Does this indicate that there is to be a new deal all around in the Democratic party?
Will New York and Connecticut follow Pennsylvania and Iowa in breaking the hard yoke!
These Nationals are evidently disturbing the Democratic mind.
