AFFAIRS OF FLORIDA.

By a gentleman who came passenger in the Southern Stage, we are informed, that the Aids of the Governor had returned from Augustine to St. Mary's, a few days since, and that Governor Mitchell dispatched them back--on what errand, was not known.

The garrison of St. Augustine's sallied out & made an attack on the Patriots; but the United States troops interfered, and were the means of preventing any bloodshed; and they again returned to the Fort.

A letter from a gentleman possessing the best sources of information, to another in this city, received by last Southern Mail, states, that he had recently been at Augustine, and that there was yet a distant probability of American troops being employed in that quarter.
