James Herdson, Alias Smith, was tried on Monday, on counterfeiting half dollars, and sentenced to the penitentiary for ten years.

James Anderson, indicted for manslaughter in killing CarBaugh in a fight on the levee, one night last winter, was sent to the penitentiary for two years.

Christopher Bissell, tried for stealing 12 pounds of coffee from R. S. Howard, was sentenced to 48 hours imprisonment in the county jail.

James Barker, for stealing $36 from Henry Schneider, was acquitted. Prosecutor did not appear.

A. J. Smith, indicted for stealing a $100 bill from James Oakley & Son escaped through a flaw in the indictment.

In the case of John Burns indicted for highway robbery, in knocking down and robbing W. F. Sublett, of a gold watch, he got through for want of evidence on the part of the State. Charles Travis the accomplice of Burns also escaped.

Rebecca McAvey's petition for divorce from Thomas McAvoy, was granted.
