In the Storm, last Saturday Night, a large Brigantine, with 280 Hogsheads of Molasses on board, belonging to Newbury Port, and bound in there from the West-Indies, commanded by Capt. Choate, in endeavouring to get into Cape-Ann Harbour, run upon the Rocks in Brace's Cove, and beat all to Pieces, so that the Cargo; as well as Vessel, was entirely lost ; but the Men were providentially all saved. We hear that Capt. Choate said, that if there had been any Light on Eastern Point (the Spot where the Cape-Ann Gentlemen were solicitous for having a Light House built, in Preference to Thatcher's Island, where one is now erecting) he should undoubtedly have saved his Vessel and Cargo.
