A series of sermons on the life of Jesus Christ began Sunday morning at Friendship Baptist Church, when Dr. E. R. Carter, venerable pastor, used "If God Be For Us Who Can Be Against You." as the text for his discourse.
In pointing out the various insects that destroy the vegetation of man and the beasts of the field that consider man as their prey, and the fowls of the air and other insects that are harmless to vegetation, but are plagues to man's physical being. Dr. Carter made it clear that God has given man strength to overcome all of these pestilences to such an extent, that man himself is his own enemy.
"Man's plans to take possession of each others' belongings defeat their purpose and destroy lives to carry out selfish motives, yet God never allows his purpose to be defeated," he asserted.
He concluded, "it matters not how deep the conflict, nor how dark the hour, if God is for you, no one need rise up against you."
The Sunday School gave a book of defense stamps to members and friends during the Christmas holidays. Dr. R. M. Reddick, general superintendent announced a very important get-together meeting to be held in the very near future.
