Lee A. Hamrick, of Waneta, Webster county and his grandson, Arthur Hamrick, who is working in this county, were here Saturday in company with Noah Gregory, of Gallopolis, O.
Lee Hamrick will soon complete 30 years in the mail service of Uncle Sam, having carried the mail continuously from Waneta to Berbardstown for 29 years, making more than 79,000 miles or 3 times around the world on horse back and yet only makes two trips a week.
He is the oldest mail carrier in West Va., in point of service and will be pensioned on completion of another year.
During the 29 years he has contracted other routes and finished contracts for those failing on the job. While here he ordered the Advance-Richwood Advance.
