I. P. Watson spent Sunday at

J. B. Granberry, of Allen, was
here recently.
The Miss Bennetts are now stopping
in town.
Rev. Mr. Thigpen preached at Damascus
Sunday.
G. D. Bustamante, of Jackson,
was here Tuesday.
Mr. Sugerman, of Meridian, was a
guest here Sunday.
Jno. Fleming has opened a writing
school in our town.
Protracted meeting commenced at
Damascus Saturday.
Julian Wilson, of Aberdeen, is here
visiting his parents.
Henry Marx, of Brookhaven, was
here for a short while Sunday.
Some of the boys were in Jackson
Sunday interviewing Sullivan.
The young people enjoyed a dance
at Faler's Hall last Friday night.
We return thanks to James Granberry
for a fine box of peaches.
H. Jacobs, of Vicksburg, was in
our midst the first of the week.
Jno. Dunning, of New Orleans,
was here for a few days recently.
Mr. E. Simon and family were visitors
in Canton the first of the week.
The handsome drummer, Mr. Levy
of New Orleans, spent Sunday here.
J. L. Anding, we regret to announce,
was quite sick the first of the
week.
We are under obligation to S. G.
Kent for a bountiful supply of nice
pears.
Miss Josie Snyder, of Jackson, is
in our city. She is the guest of Miss
Lola Anding.
Chancellor Mayes, of Oxford, lectured
here Friday night and Saturday
morning.
Nearly all of our citizens will navigate
to the Camp meeting at Crystal
Springs Sunday.
Miss Carrie Hargrave, one of West
Copiah's sweetest young ladies,
is in our city with relatives.
We are informed that a new firm
will open up a general merchandise
business here at an early date.
Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Brill and Miss
Bena Schaefer left Monday evening to
visit Hazlehurst. - Yazoo City Herald.
One of Brookhaven's beauties, in
the person of Miss Sallie Seavy, was
a pleasant guest in our city the former
part of the week.
A croquet party was enjoyed at the
residence of Capt. Harris Saturday
evening, given by his estimable
daughter, Miss Nellie.
