Full Text

The Election passed off here quietly.

The grog-shops were closed up, and consequently there was very little drunkenness.

We did well in this Township, as we did at the October election.

It was very amusing to see how the poor Butternuts received their sentence. Johny Heaton, when the vote of this Township was counted, said the country had "gone to h—l" if the balance of it voted in that way.

We heard another Cop. remark, "We didn't quite(!) get up to 200!" No, not quite!

Hurrah for Old Abe!
