BUFFOON OF BAYOUS
HEARD OVER RADIO

WASHINGTON, Feb. 11. (UP)

Senator Huey P. Long, Dem., La., last night attempted to justify his "share the wealth" program to a radio audience by quoting the Bible, the Pilgrims and a Wall Street financial writer.

The buffoon of the bayous said that if the nation had rich people it had to have poor people and said that America needed "a more even seesaw." He said his tax on millionaires would accomplish this.

He quoted from the covenant of the Pilgrim fathers to demonstrate that his program was truly American. He said the quotation showed that his proposal was not new but an ideal of long standing.

The Louisiana Kingfish quoted Roger W. Babson, financial writer, as saying that every American could have a $10,000 stake in the country but Long said he would be willing to have a nation where everyone had $5,000.
