Prussia vs. France. A discussion of the war question in Singer's saloon on Fourth Street, on Saturday afternoon, resulted in a row. Prussia gathered himself for a mighty effort, hurling his fists, a beer glass and a reverberating Donner und Blitzen at France, all at one time.

France was spilled into a corner under a couple of chairs and a beer table. A little pot of French mustard rolled into his mouth just as he was about to yell "Vive La France," and choked him, so that all he could do was to blow the pungent condiment into Prussia's eyes.

Constable Donahue was informed that this was only a rehearsal, and that the real performance had not yet begun.
