Dixon, of lower township, rented a piece of land to a negro named Laurence Spigener and forbade him cutting the trees upon the land. Captain Dixon caught the negro in the act of cutting the trees and selling the wood and had him locked up. He was tried this morning, and magistrate Smith decided that he was guilty of larceny.
