A man, listed by police as Willie Lewis Brown, 26, of 35 Maryland Avenue, in the area where Beasley was killed, was arrested in connection with the slaying.

He was quoted as saying Beasley accused a third person of taking a dollar from him and grew angry when Brown said this was not true.

An argument developed into a physical struggle involving the three people, and Beasley was shot, he said.
