Nephew of Late Levi Z. Leiter Shoots
Self in Chicago.
Chicago, July 27.-Carver Remington, 60 years old, a son of Samuel Remington and a nephew of the late Levi Z. Leiter, attempted to end his life by shooting in a downtown tailor shop here. He was wounded in the left side near the heart, but probably will recover.
Remington wrote three letters, one to his wife, a second to his brother, Franklin Remington of New York, and a third to an undertaking company. He stated in one of the letters that he was discouraged by lack of business success.
The wounded man was taken to a hospital and his wife, who has been in Chicago with him, was summoned.
