Columbia, Nov. 8. - National Book Week will be observed in the Columbia high school during the week of November 16-21.

During this time special emphasis will be placed on the use of the school library. The general theme for the week is, "Books to Grow On—The Modern World for Young Readers."

National Book Week follows and is closely associated with National Education Week, as the reading of worthwhile books is a vital part of every person's education.

Every year schools and civic organizations throughout the country co-operate in celebrating National Book Week because it stimulates interest in the reading of worthwhile books. Book week will be of especial interest here this year because a number of new books have been added to the school library.

The librarians of Columbia high school will make attractive posters and book displays, and the chapel program that week will be devoted to books.
