HAPPY TRAVELING IN 1962
By the time this note is printed we shall be well on our way down Highway 62. Here's wishing for each of you a prosperous and peaceful journey. May I admonish each of you to accept the companionship of Christ for the unknown way that lies before us.
He knows the way, He holds the key to the future, and is able and ready to see us through the difficult places along the way.
Let us remember that as we travel this new and untried highway, that we are sure to encounter all types of people. Some kind and helpful, some ruthless and overbearing, but our attitudes will have much to do with the safety of the journey. Let us be kind, considerate, and always at our best. Yield the road and never cross over the dividing line, and never drive through a stop sign.
In the words of R. B. Beattie let us consider ways to A Happy New Year:
"To leave the old with a burst of song,
To recall the right and forgive the wrong;
To the vain regrets of the year that's past,
To have the strength to let go your hold
Of the not worth while of the days grown old,
AND
To dare go forth with a purpose true,
To the unknown task of a year that's new;
To help your brother along the road
To do his work and lift his load;
To add your gift to the world's good cheer,
Is to have and to give a Happy New Year."
Wishing for all of you a happy and safe trip through 1962.
