JUST REBUKE,

Our neighbors of the Spirit give a just rebuke to certain disturbers of the Methodist congregation, in the article which we quote. We noticed, on Sunday night, the conduct of a few would-be-decent youths, who have more impudence and assurance than brains, talking, laughing, spitting, and otherwise annoying the congregation. Nothing but a regard for the parents and friends, prevents us from giving their names just now; but we pledge ourselves to do so, should they hereafter be so indiscreet as to be guilty of similar conduct. They deserved to be taken out by the ears, which will be done, if repeated. The Spirit says—

"We regret to state that some persons with more impudence than prudence have rendered themselves conspicuous by laughing and whispering during the services, to the annoyance of the congregation, the majority of which is composed of well-behaved and orderly people. These individuals would confer a favor upon the members of the church if they would absent themselves entirely. There are those too, who in violation of good-manners, are disposed to disregard a notice which is prominently posted in the vestibule, in relation to the use of tobacco in the church. We hope for decency's sake that this notice will hereafter be observed."
