Date Growers To
Meet Tomorrow

Arrangements have been completed
by the agricultural extension service
for an unusually interesting
meeting of date growers to be held
at the Swann and Son's Highway
date ranch, 3 miles west of El Centro,
on the San Diego highway, Friday,
July 10 at 9 a. m. sharp.

The purpose of the meeting will
be to study the relative efficiency
of different soil mixtures as media
for rooting date palm offshoots, and
also to observe the latest developments in the delicate task of removing rooted offshoots from date
palms. A. J. Shamblin, government
date specialist has agreed to come
down from Indio to talk at the meeting which should greatly add to the
interest of the demonstration.
