Youth Injured Trying to Prevent Collision Freight Cars Demolished by Impact.
Bangor.-Standing on the rear platform of a caboose, trying to flag an approaching freight train with his coat, a small boy jumped from a speeding freight train, in the yards here, just as the faster freight crashed into his. He was slightly injured by his fall.
The caboose and a dozen cars were reduced to kindling wood by the impact and the engine of the other freight train was badly damaged.
The fireman and engineer jumped in time to save their lives and escaped with a few small cuts and bruises.
