A Christmas Murder:

Denver, December 26.-A Republican Socorro (N. M.) special says: At a Christmas festival held here on Christmas Eve several Mexicans created a disturbance, which was quelled by A. M. Conkling, editor of the Sun. Shortly afterwards, while Conkling and wife were leaving the church, two Mexicans seized him by the arms while a third fired three shots, killing Conkling instantly. His assailants fled to a small town in the vicinity, where they are guarded by 200 Mexicans. A large posse of Americans, well armed, intend to get the murderers if they have to fight for them.
