Full Text

It would seem that no other persons but whigs can die in Mexico, if the statements of the whig newspapers are to be relied on. No democrats are in the army, or at least none are ever so unfortunate as to meet a melancholy fate in that country. All are whigs. The Websters and the Clays are all killed, or die. Yell, Pillow, Worth or any other Democrat is never caught in such business as dying or being in the army. Oh no, they stay home and make speeches to the dear people. The whigs do all the fighting, and the democrats remain at home—won't be engaged in so horrid a war.
