Many Enlisted Men Will Enter After They
Are Mustered Out.
New Haven, Ct., Oct. 2.—The enroll-
ment at Yale for this year is thus far
known in only two departments of the
university. The freshman class in the
academic department numbers 325 in-
stead of 365, as was first believed would
be the case, judging by the number
who took the final entrance examina-
tions. The increase this year in the
freshman class is thus ten men, but
a decrease of 25 as compared with the
high-water mark class of 1900. The
entering class of the Sheffield Scientific
School numbers 176, a decrease of 11.
It is believed that a number of pro-
spective members are still in the army
and will present themselves for spe-
cial examination as soon as they are
mustered out of service.
