Quite a number from this neighborhood attended the celebration at Ontario Monday.
Mrs. H. Conrad and three children, Regina, Walter and Clara, went to New Plymouth to spend a week visiting relatives and friends.
Lou Vealy was a Boise visitor on Saturday.
C. H. Martin and family returned Tuesday from Sage Hen basin. Their trip was a very pleasant one, although they were caught in the rain Monday.
Miss Clara Aston accompanied her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Carr, to Boise Sunday, where she will spend two weeks for the benefit of her health.
Several of the farmers are harvesting their grain crop.
Mrs. Ina Dayton and children from town came out to the ranch Tuesday to visit Mr. and Mrs. Willis Dayton.
Leslie Little left Monday for Gross where he will spend two weeks visiting his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Nelson. He made the trip horseback.
The U. A. club picnic, held in the grove Monday, was a very pleasant affair and enjoyed by all who attended. A bountiful picnic dinner was served at noon to which all did justice.
A very interesting talk was given in the afternoon by L. G. Knight.
The Misses Snell and Lathrop furnished entertainment for the little folks, including games and races.
A very amusing feature of the afternoon's entertainment was a ball game between the married and single men, which resulted in a victory for the singles. Nevertheless the married men made a fine showing and displayed a great deal of skill as ball players. About 20 families attended.
Mrs. Turner is staying at the Aston home during Clara's absence.
Mrs. Ina Pierce spent Sunday at home with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dayton.
UPPER MESA

Mrs. George Johnson and mother were callers on Mrs. Frank Packard Saturday evening.
William Kreitzenbeck is cutting grain for several in this neighborhood.
Evalyn Cowan has been quite ill with chickenpox.
Mrs. Spotts and Mrs. Loe Reed were callers Friday afternoon on Mrs. Beahn, Mrs. Ellis and Mrs. Badley.
Mrs. Mike Gilbride and children spent Sunday at the Mary Hanthorn home.
Mr. and Mrs. Van Fleet and children spent the 5th at the Brown and Berry picnic for the Indianola people.
Clint Martin and family spent the Fourth and several days up in the hills.
Roy Sanders and family and Jay Sanders and wife returned Sunday from their trip to High Valley, where they spent the Fourth.
All report a joyful time at the picnic given by the A. U. club ladies and the Farmers' Co-operation at Preble's grove July 5.
Mr. and Mrs. Lee Beahn and Mr. and Mrs. G. G. Ellis spent the Fourth at the dam.
Frank Packard, Clark Pryor and Charles Stimson were a fishing party that spent the Fourth at the Big Eddy on the North Fork.
Mr. and Mrs. William Emerick went to Boise Friday with W. W. Wilton in his auto, returning the same day.
E. E. Hampton, wife and children spent several days visiting with friends in Boise and Nampa.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Clement had as guests the other evening Mr. and Mrs. Lee Beahn, Mr. and Mrs. G. G. Ellis, Mr. and Mrs. McProud and children and Mrs. Turner. The evening was spent with music and reminiscences of Palisades, Colo. Ice cream and cake were served at a late hour.
