GERMANS CLAIM
MANY AIRSHIPS
ARE DESTROYED

(Associated Press)

BERLIN, Nov. 12. According to German official estimates published tonight by the war office, during the month of October the allies destroyed only 5 airplanes and one balloon of the Germans, while they lost 244 airplanes and nine balloons. These losses were incurred on the western front, and account for all aircraft lost, according to the war officials.

Taking these figures as a basis for their calculations, the German officials declare that the superiority in strength and materials of the German air branch is clearly demonstrated. In the numerous duels and engagements which have been fought, says the announcement, the German flyers have been able to inflict much greater damage to the enemy than was suffered by themselves.
