We cut the following from a London paper: The New Zurich Gazette of the 17th inst says—"The American Consul at Basle has just demanded from the Cantons the extradition of a person named Costen, who absconded from the United States with property belonging to a banker amounting to about 10,000,000f." The individual alluded to is no doubt Mr. Finnapier Coster, of Georgia notoriety, who is now living in elegant retirement in one of the Swiss Cantons, on the fruits of his swindling operations.—We are not however aware of any treaty under which our Consul could demand the extradition of the plunderer.—N. Y. Sun.
