DESIRE MORE DUTY ON U. S. AUTOMOBILES

The demand for protection was presented to the ministry of commerce by Baron Petiet head of the French automobile chamber of commerce.

American factories are seeking a foreign outlet and French industry is frankly alarmed at the competition, especially in low priced cars. There has also been a sudden cessation of French buying attributed partly to the 10 per cent tax and the exorbitant price of gasoline.
