Registration Efforts Will Be Increased

An intensified drive to register Atlanta and Fulton County citizens will take place through the month of April.

Precinct leaders and block workers met Tuesday night in a workshop at the Butler Street YMCA.

All-citizens Registration Committee directors outlined the drive for intensified canvassing and getting people to the Courthouse to qualify to vote.

The precinct workers according to Chairman Jesse Hill, are to meet next week to appraise reports of area canvassing and needs, and to receive further instructions. They were especially urged to form car pool committees within precincts, in order to get the unregistered to the Courthouse. Persons needing transportation there were asked to contact the Registration office at 236 Auburn Avenue, N.E. Ja. 2-2516, where instructions may be secured.

Persons who cannot go down to the Courthouse except in the evenings or on Saturdays were urged to inform the Auburn Avenue Registration office in order that arrangements may be made with the Fulton County Registrar.
