Alaska's first Adjustment Council, in cooperation with the Territorial Unemployment Compensation administration was named recently by Dr. Noel Dick, of Fairbanks and Robert Bragaw of Anchorage, acting as a quorum for commission at their annual meeting, at Juneau.
Composed of seven members, the appointment of the advisory council was called for in the Unemployment Compensation Law as passed by the Legislature. Made up of two members representing employers and two members representing the public.
Named employee members of the new Council are John Cole of Juneau and A. R. Hansen of Petersburg. Representing employers on the council will be Al Anderson, of Fairbanks, and Henry J. Emard of Anchorage. Representing the public will be Mrs. P. L. Krause of Juneau, Elvin Sweetman of Skagway, and J. W. Klourn of Douglas.
According to the law setting up the council, the advisory body may hold annual meetings once a year to make recommendations to the Unemployment Compensation Commission. They may also act in an advisory capacity concerning subjects of unemployment compensation which will be referred to them by the commissioners.
