RELEASED.

Dr. T. B. Whitesides, of this county, who on the 27th of December last was sentenced to one year's imprisonment by the United States Circuit Court, on the charge of ku-kluxing, reached this place on Saturday afternoon last from the Albany penitentiary. He was discharged about one month before the expiration of his sentence; but for what reason we have been unable to definitely ascertain. It is rumored, however, that it was in consequence of his uniformly good conduct while a prisoner. We hope that a number of the other prisoners, who were convicted of minor offenses, may soon be pardoned by the President and permitted to return to their homes.
