SUICIDE OF A BROKER.

WILKESBARRE, Pa., July 9.—S. W. Paine, a commission broker, with an office in this city, committed suicide at Rhoades Hotel, Harvey's Lake, at an early hour this morning. He retired early last evening, apparently in the best of spirits. About 2 o'clock this morning the other guests at the hotel were awakened by two pistol shots. The door of Paine's room was broken in and he was found lying dead on the floor with a bullet hole in his right temple. The coroner was at once notified. The dead broker was about 41 years of age, and came here from New York about six years ago.
