Let Them Protest Legally, But Threats To Flout Law Is Resorting To Anarchy

WASHINGTON, Feb. 15.
Landlords from all over the nation are swarming on capitol Hill to oppose any attempt to pass a rent-control law similar to the one that was in effect in the days of OPA.
Representative Patman of Texas, of the house banking committee, which is considering a proposed rent-control bill, blasted the landlords today for their assertion, that they would evict tenants and take their houses off rent in event that the bill became a law.

American public, have the right to protest against any proposed or adopted measure, but that their protests should be confined to legal lines.
He added that when the protests are couched in threats to oppose the law or to try to circumvent or flout it, the objectors were resorting to tactics that are anarchistic.
