NAVAL RESERVE FLIER AND HIS PASSENGER KILLED.
NORFOLK. Va., June 14-(AP)-
Lieutenant Harold R. Stiles. U. S Naval reserve flier, and Herbert S Fentress, civilian, both of Norfolk were killed shortly before six o'clock early tonight in a crash of an airplane piloted by the former.
The crash occurred at East Camp former naval training station, and in full view of scores of golfer and autoists, who had been watching the machine being put through a number of stunts.
Spectators said the plane was doing a falling leaf when it was seen suddenly to go into a tail spin, then nose dived to earth. Both occupants were killed instantly.
Lieutenant Stiles was married and leaves a wife and three children. Fentress also was married. Both were widely known.
