TRIAL BALLOONS
Various members of Congress have indicated that President Truman's call for both stop-gap and long-range aid to Europe will be hotly debated. Many of them remain unconvinced that it is wise to send food to Europe at the expense of high prices and shortages in the United States. The President, however, has made it clear that such a program is absolutely necessary. If Congress lingers in debate over aid to Europe, it will be serving the ends of world Communism, and dealing what might be a death blow to present American foreign policy.
