SERVED AS PRIVATE WITH HQ. CO. 3RD INFANTRY
A doughboy who once stood in the ranks of Hq. Co., 3rd Inf., will return here next week and find a host of old friends who will congratulate him upon his recent promotion to Second Lieutenant.
That man is the former Pvt. Harry H. Geoffrey, who was graduated from the United States Military Academy yesterday, and is a commissioned officer today, having placed 69th out of a class of 241.
Lieutenant Geoffrey competed for entrance to the Military Academy over four years ago, and "made it from the ranks".
