Dr. Aven Nelson, the president of
the University of Wyoming, and W.
S. Ingham, a member of the board of
trustees, have returned from Casper,
where they had been with other members
of the board looking over the oil
situation as it has bearing on the interests
of the university. Six members of the
board, including Mr. Ingham, Dr. A. B.
Hamilton of Laramie, C. D. Spalding of
Laramie, Judge Carey of Cheyenne,
President Mary B. David of Douglas and
Mrs. B. B. Brooks of Casper, attended
the meeting, the absentees being Judge
Burke, who is in California, Mr. Beech
of Kemmerer and Mr. Brooks of Sheridan.
The state superintendent of public
instruction, Miss Edith K. O. Clark, and
State Land Commissioner Lee were also
present and attended the meetings of the
board. Mr. Spalding and Dr. Hamilton
remained over to visit on the La Prele
and at other points. Mr. Ingham stated
today that the board had gained a good
deal of very valuable information and he
thought the trip had been entirely
successful. Some matters in connection
with the oil business of the university
were disposed of.
