TAR HEEL STUDENTS
DOMINATE DAVIDSON

Davidson, Oct. 3.-F. W. Hengveld,
Register of Davidson
College,
announced here today that the enrollment
of the college for this year is
as large as it was for the first semester
of the 1931-1932 session. Of this
number, 369, slightly over fifty per
cent, are North Carolinians; while the
remainder are
drawn from twenty
states and seven foreign countries.

The Presbyterian Church claims the
allegiance of 426 of the Davidson students,
though sixteen religious bodies
are represented. Only sixteen students
have non-denominational affiliation.

Other statistics show that over half
the members of the Davidson student
body have signified their intention of
entering Medicine, the Ministry, Law,
Teaching, or Business. Of those indicating
a preference for some other vocation,
the largest group, 27 in number,
has chosen Engineering as their
life work.

What do we live for, if it is not to
make life less difficult to each other.

George Eliot.
