Full Text

The Greeks. The recent return of Dr. Howe from Greece, has created a new coal in favour of this oppressed and suffering people. Meetings have been held in New-York, Boston, Salem, Hartford, and other places, at which spirited measures have been adopted towards procuring subscriptions of money, clothing, food, &c. to be forwarded to Greece. Dr. Howe is soon to publish an account of the present state of Greece, a task for which, it is presumed, his opportunities of observation have peculiarly fitted him. He is now about taking a journey up the Hudson River, with the intention of visiting the principal villages through the State of New-York, and attempting to awaken the sympathy of the people in behalf of Greece.

The Worcester Yeoman, of Saturday, appeared in a new and improved dress, under an arrangement which the editor has made to publish it in connexion with Messrs. Spooner & Merriam. This paper justly ranks among the most respectable newspapers of the country.
