"A treaty has taken place between the kings of England and Sardinia, whereby they agree to make a common cause in the war with France—the king of Sardinia to keep on foot an army of 20,000 men during the war: the king of England to send into the Mediterranean a fleet to act as circumstances direct; and to furnish the king of Sardinia with 200,000 l. a year, while said war lasts—the king of England not to make peace with France without restitution of that part of the Sardinian dominions, (Savoy,) now possessed by the French, &c."
