Immediately following the sad details of the Ward School calamity, comes the intelligence of another scene of destruction and death, from a similar catastrophe. On Monday, about 12 o'clock, the men employed in the printing press factory of Messrs. Hoe, at the corner of Broome and Sheriff Streets, had stopped work to eat their dinners, a tremendous crash was heard, and at the next moment it was found that the rear wall of the five story brewery of P. C. Harmon, had fallen upon the roof of the machine shop of the foundry, crushing it in, and instantly killing two men, and severely wounding two others. There were about sixteen persons in the shop at the time, who escaped injury, though many of them were buried beneath the avalanche of grain from the brewery. The recovery of the wounded persons is extremely doubtful, one of whom is deranged.
