Hungry Traveler Given Break By Kind Judge

BIRMINGHAM, Al Feb, 17- Here's one hungry man that did not fall on deaf ears.

Early Monday morning six thirty, to be exact, Ed Aldridge, 22, who gives his home address as Route 1 Tuscaloosa Ala. was arrested by Officer Ellard upon the complaint of Charles A. Pearson, 1531 Twelfth Court north, who was watching his grocery store.

Mr. Pearson stated that he saw the young man come to the store look around and then steal two quarts and a pint of milk.

Young Aldridge told the judge that he was on his way to Chattanooga and hadn't had a thing to eat since the day before. He was let off with a fine of a dollar and court costs and given a suspended jail sentence of thirty days to speed him on his way to Tennessee.
