NEW-LONDON, April 3.

Last Friday a small sloop was seen (by some People in a Canoe) to overset near Fisher's Island, in a gust of wind, when 3 people were discovered to get upon the rigging, but the vessel soon after sunk; the next day (Saturday in the afternoon) the hatches of a vessel, made of pine boards, came ashore on said Island, also a keg marked T. S. 1770 on one of the heads, and an oar, which articles it's supposed came from the above sloop. On Sunday her mast was discovered, being unstepped and held by the rigging. On Monday a boat weighed her so far as to discover her bowsprit, but fearing the stay would part, the people left her, in order to procure better materials, but before their return a sloop came across & took up the mast, which is brought to this place; since which the vessel has not been found. She must be about 30 feet hold by her mast. It is not yet known where she belonged. A vessel from the Jerseys put into Fisher's Island last Saturday: just before in the sound off this Harbour she came across a Quarter deck, which it's thought belonged to the above vessel.
