Murder.—On Saturday morning last, about 1 o'clock, an Irishman, named Anthony Rogan, of about 24 years of age, in the service of Mr. George D. Davis, Veterinary Surgeon, was found dead in Cambridge-street, not far from West-Row, by one of the Watchmen, who took the body to the room in the Old State-House. The deceased had been several times stabbed with a knife in the breast and on the face; but his death was evidently caused by cutting his throat, the jugular vein having been separated. We hear he had left his lodgings at 10 o'clock, to go to the hill, that receptacle for rogues and offenders. He observed during yesterday that he expected to be killed if he ever ventured there again, as he had been in a squabble there a few nights previous. He had bled profusely in the street.
An inquisition was held on the body, by Coroner Stevenson; and a verdict given, that the deceased came to his death by wounds inflicted on his body, by some person or persons to them unknown.
