OUR OWN POETS.

WHO STARTED THIS WAR?

Who started this war, the world's greatest fight,

That causes destruction over each night?

When men fight for their country just to defend it,

Man started this war. Now let man end it.

His selfishness, pride and his gain were all causes.

His thoughtlessness bade him to make no pauses.

But who can be powerful enough to rend it?

Man, who started this war? Let him end it.

The horrors of war are too well known-

"Peace! Peace!" is the cry from every zone:

Then why can't we stop it, no more aid lend it?

Man started this war. Why won't he end it?

We are desirous of peace, every one,

We know every soldier is some mother's son,

Then why can't we to the finish send it?

Man started this war. Surely he should end it.

We're successful in business, in pleasure and sport.

When we wish to accomplish, we will give support,

Then why don't we demand the trouble to mend it?

For man started this war. He ought to end it.
