BEAUTIFUL SNOW-NO. 2,946.

Oh, the snowflakes gayly tumble,
At which circumstance we grumble,
As we skip and slip and stumble
In the teeth of the gale:
Through the air the flakes come floating,
And the pave they're quickly coating
With a mushy slush, promoting
All the ills that colds entail.

Oh, that snow could be snowed under!
Its invention is a blunder!
What's the good of it, I wonder?
It's a nuisance every way!

Why am I 'gainst snow inveighing?
Well, because my girl was saying
That she wants to go out sleighing,
And I can't afford the sleigh!
